Russell Bishop

Russell Bishop is an internationally recognized expert in personal and organization transformation with over 50 years consulting, operating, and coaching experience in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors.

His first experience in the not-for-profit sector began in 1978 when he created Insight Seminars, a personal growth seminar company, which grew from a spare bedroom to 43 countries around the world. Russell subsequently founded two not-for-profit consulting firms and was later recruited by Andersen Consulting (Accenture) to join as an Associate Partner to help create a change strategy practice.

He has served on several not-for-profit boards including The Points of Light Foundation, University of Santa Monica, and Insight Seminars. Russell has helped numerous national not-for-profit organizations clarify their business purpose and strategy, focusing on the following areas:

• Not-for-profit business planning
• Project management and execution
• Membership growth and development
• Philanthropy and fundraising
• Marketing and awareness building

An internationally regarded speaker, educator and consultant, Russell has worked with individuals, organizations and leadership teams across Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America.

Russell holds a Master of Arts degree in Educational Psychology from the University of California at Davis, a Master’s in Spiritual Science, and an honorary Doctorate of Spiritual Science from Peace Theological Seminary and College of Philosophy.

Fundraising Area of Expertise:  Russell’s core expertise is in Board Training, Management and Governance (Strategic Planning, Program Development, Project Execution and the related disciplines of marketing and membership development).
